Did You Exercise Today?
If you find yourself in the vast majority in this country, that is being obese and in need of fitness what have you done today to rectify the problem? Getting to your present condition was an effect of your lifestyle and because of that it may seem to be near permanent. It isn’t but you also need to take into account that the same principle that got you here and holds you in place is the one you will use to free yourself.
Change Lifestyle
Your lifestyle is held in place by your interlocking paradigms that govern your behavior. These paradigms in turn are supported by habits that you have most likely developed haphazardly and if actually analyzed you would immediately change. That is why your first order of business is to make sure you you become conscious of your habits. This can be as simple as keeping a diary or log around the behaviors you feel you want to change in order to make their execution more conscious and less involuntary. As you track the occurrences you will have all the evidence you need in order to make the needed change.
Did You Make A “Runner’s” New Year’s Eve Resolution?
It’s always interesting when we get to the end of the year and people start waxing nostalgic about what they have experienced in the past year and what they hope to experience in the upcoming one. Of course a big part of all of this at this time is the creating and setting of new year’s resolutions. The main question here is did you set one related to running this year? This becomes even more pertinent as we get closer to the ideal season for running outside. Of course this really applies to those of us who actually experience seasonal changes that are significant.
If you did set or make such a goal then what have you started to do to get ready for it? One of the first things you can look into is going to get fitted for a new set of running shoes that are comfortable and will work for you and your running style. Of course the assumption here is that you are fit enough to run. If you aren’t sure about this then a visit to your doctor should supersede everything. Speak to them of your plans and remember to start small and then build on your successes!
Have You Tuned Your Running For The Upcoming “Sick” Season?
Whether or not you are involved in the running community or maybe you just aspire to be one you have to be aware that the next few months for running in some parts of the country can be a challenge taking into account the weather, road and track conditions that can be far less then optimal in an increasing amount of ways. For the runners among us are you ready to make an all out assault to maintain or improve your conditioning by making sure you keep up with your weekly maintenance running? If not what can you do right now to resolve this? Maintaining or optimizing your running condition should be an ongoing result of your runner's lifestyle. If it isn't then make a commitment to change.
Are You Running Too Much?
Many people when they first get started with the sport of running actually end up exercising too much. Most running training programs will have you run several times a week with the long runs occurring on the weekend. You may be very enthusiastic when you get started but don’t let that get you in trouble. The best plan of action is to stick to the plan with the running group or regimen you are following. If you overdo it then you will find yourself in the position of not being able to finish the training you set out to do.
A Guide To Bungee Jumping Alternatives
Variations to traditionally bungee jumping are catapult, twin tower, bungee running and bungee trampoline. In catapult, the jumper is placed on the ground and the cord is stretched, usually with the help of a crane, and then the jumper is released and he goes shooting up in the air. Twin towers employs two oblique cords. Bungee running, as the name suggests involves running and not jumping. The rope is attached to the participant and he runs as far as possible on an inflatable surface. The point maximum reached is marked with the help of a Velcro-backed marker, after which the runner gets pulled back to his initial position. Two or more people are involved in this and it is more like a running competition. Bungee Trampoline has a mix of bungee and trampolining. The body is fitted into a harness attached to a trampoline, which in turn is attached to a bungee. When the participant begins to jump he goes higher than a normal trampoline would.
Bungee jumping has been incorporated in many movies and video albums. The most famous of all is the James Bond movie, Golden Eye, which was released in 1995. The movie opens with Bond jumping from a dam in Russia. The jump was no special effect and was genuine.
Like other sports, bungee jumping has its share of possible injuries. The reason for most of them is human error, along with failure of safety harness, miscalculation of elasticity of the rope and improper connection of the cord. Possible injuries are body entangling with the rope, rope burn, dislocations, eye trauma, uterine prolapsed, back injury, pinched fingers and bruises. Jumper’s age, weight, experience, and location should be reviewed before the jump, as a safety measure.
